Angel sat with his knees up to his chest and his head rested over his knees. His eyes shifted slowly about between two intermediate spaces of the room but always seemed to return to the only object worth looking at within the room at all, a glass box sitting atop a dresser not too far away from the bed that he was sitting on. It had been a few weeks since the white haired Angel had tried to escape from the research facility, and the group of doctors that still insisted on being his keepers had tightened security supposedly for his benefit.
I wish they would just leave me alone... I don't need them... damn it.... Angel let out a sharp breath but said nothing for fear of the cameras that had been installed in the area. Leaning back, Angel stretched his shoulder blades, and along with that, the metalic sound of wings ruffling followed. A muscle twitched in Angel's neck. He was still not used to the sound of his own wings moving despite having them for two years. t still sent strange signals through him, and sometimes he blamed them for the 'short circuits' that occurred to him and were slowly killing him. However, he knew that t was probably not the case, and yet he wanted to hope either way.
Suddenly, the sounds of alarms hit Angel's ear drums. They hadn't gone off in so long that the only thing that came to mind was the simple word of intruder. Who would actually want to come in here in the first place? Angel thought to himself.

Why does Jabari ALWAYS send me on these crap missions! Aletha shouted to herself as she slipped into a door after a leaving doctor had opened it, not knowing he was about to doom his career. She had knocked him unconscious with a swift smacking of the head into a wall, and she entered successfully, but a second later knew she had failed. The alarms were going off, which meant there were cameras around. She looked straight up and found a small silver camera that had begun to unground itself to follow her. She jumped up and hit it with the palm of her hand, and destroyed the signal.
She knew the facility almost as well as she knew her own house, since she had toured around it time and time again, and had worked here after the success of her rebirth, until the rebellion had come forward. She hadn't been planning on shutting off the power, but she had no choice now.
She ran down a few halls, kicking anyone down if they tried to stop her, leaving her guns that were found as her hands until she was sure there was no other way. She came to a door that read Security[/b], and shot the lock and pushed it in. The room was luckily deserted, the security guards obviously going the wrong way to get to her. She broke the easier lock that lead down three sets of stairs and to the electricity power room, and found the control board full of levers and switches. Once she found which way the levers were to be pushed to turn that area off, she started to turn all the lights off, and finally the cameras. The red lights in the darkness died as she did this.
She heard running footsteps as she began to make her way up the stairs, and so swung of the railing and dropped to the bottom edge, and kept on making her way through this difficult and slow way. She felt the rushing of air as the guards ran by, and their shouting. She swung herself to the next turn of the staircase, and climbed up. Aletha slipped her shoes off, and started to run in perfect silence, her mechanical ears picking up the shouts that she was no longer there.
It was much harder to find the way to the staircase that lead to the underground laboratories, surgery rooms and patient rooms in the pitch black, but she found it after a few tries and a few scares of a circle of light from a flashlight. The problem was that she didn't remember the number of the room that held the head doctor's office, and so she started to open doors at random. She opened door number 12, but after finding not to have a desk, turned to leave.

As the lights went off and the cameras beeped expressing that they were losing power, Angel felt a strange sense of interest growing in him. What was happening? Was there an intruder? Standing up, the white haired man walked to the other side of his room and seized the door. Just like that, the door licked open. The power's been changed.... Angel thought to himself, and in that moment, a rush of jubilation flew over him sharply. Yanking the door open, Angel walked into the hallway with the sound of his metal wings moving at a minimum. No regular human could hear it, so there was nothing to worry about. Moving sharply down the halls he knew well, Angel continued until he made a left and found that a girl appeared to be looking head only into a room.

When Aletha heard the faint rustling, she put it off as her own movements, but once it got louder, it was obvious that it was someone else, and a mechanical at that. A mechanical? Stalking me? You've got to be kidding me, I wasn't expecting a traitor here! Etha thought to herself, but she knew it was a stupid thing to assume. She slipped into the next room, still acting as if she didn't hear his movements, and stood flat against the fall near to the door, waiting to see if he could come in.

Stepping down the hall fully and then turning into the room where he had seen the girl go in, Angel allowed his mechanical eye to observe the area before he stepped inwards. The sound of someone's breathing from inside was a loud enough indicator, and yet there was something else as well. It sounded almost.... A mechanical? Angel thought to himself suddenly. Are they trying to escape too? Stepping only halfway in the doorsill, Angel allowed his voice to speak in a hushed tone. "Who is there?" he asked carefully after another moment waiting to hear someone answer.

Aletha stilled her breathing long enough to launch her attack, taking the surprise attack to grab the mechanical's arm and pull it behind his back and push him into the wall next to the door. The hood fell off and Angel's face turned to the side, which didn't register to Etha at first. "If you stay here until I get-- Angel? Is that you?" She gasped, and dropped his hand.

Angel flinched as his arm was twisted and he was forced into a wall. Recognizing the sound fo Aletha's voice, he froze for a moment. "Aletha?" he asked as she released him and he started to turn around slowly once more. "What are you doing here 0001? It's dangerous for cyborgs." Realizing the irony in this, Angel forced somewhat of a pained smile.

"Jabari sent me here. But why are you here? Why are they keeping you prisoner?"Aletha asked as she reached out and touched Angel's face with her fingers. It had been a long time since she had seen him. Last time she had talked to him, he was still in his own house, not the research facility. Aletha frowned at the pained look on his face, and tried to smile.

"They're...." Angel said as his blue-green eyes moved somewhat to the right. "Trying to figure out what's wrong with me." He hated saying it. He didn't want to say it, and yet t had to be said aloud. Breathing out, he forced another smile. "How about you get what you need and get out of here before they find you..." He said after another moment. "You set off the alarm, and they always have that 'all hell has broken lose' mentality...."

"I'm taking you with me Angel. If anyone can find out what's wrong with you, it's Indi," Aletha said as she reached out and grabbed Angel's hand before starting to pull him towards the door. "I won't leave you to these idiots to die."

Angel froze, and even as Aletha tried to pull his arm, he refuse to move. "I have to stay here..." he said darkly looking at her in the manner that one gives someone else as he expects her to understand. "Indifference disappeared didn't he?" he asked after another moment as the thought came to him. "He left the government entirely...."

"I know he has, but I've kept in touch with him, since I'm basically the daughter he doesn't have yet. I'm not going to say where he is right now, just in case we somehow don't get out of here. But we're leaving Angel, and that's final," Aletha said, putting an edge into her voice as she pulled on his arm until he finally came out into the hall. Tired of the restless searching in the dark, she took the lens from her eye and stared down the hall, reading the numbers and trying to remember which room was the room she needed.

Angel let out a breath and finally nodded. Suddenly being dragged down the hallway and through the rooms, Angel managed to keep his footing when Aletha stopped moving. "What are you looking for anyways?" he asked quietly as his own cyborg eye moved around the area.

"When Jabari started the rebellion and Indi was forced out off of the government payroll, he left papers on one of his latest experiments in one of the offices here. The surgery went wrong, and the mechanical bits that were put into the woman made her lose her sanity. These papers could clue us in on where Bethany Love is," Aletha said as she opened a door, and found a room full of filing cabinets. Cursing loudly, she started to put around the room, trying to find the B and L filing cabinets.

"The surgery went wrong?" Angel asked almost in disbelief. "Wasn't Indifference working on the project? How could it...." However, he knew that there would always be errors in everything. If it was Indi's fault, it would only prove him to be human. Cutting himself off from speaking any further, Angel began to look through the drawers as well. "I think I found something," he said looking up.
